The Hamburglar Bike

Earlier in the month I posted the American Cheese Burger coasters and vowed to stock every table of my fantasy burger restaurant with them. After seeing Harry Sperl's The Hamburglar Bike, I now know by what means I'll do deliveries. The Florida resident and hamburger enthusiast couldn't think of anything more appropriate to customized his Harley after.

Virgina Novelty License Plate

I do love me a good custom license plate. I'm alway impressed with people who can pull off something funny or creative. My family has never been very good at this. My parents' first custom plate was a vowel-less version of our last name, followed by the number of people in our family. My older sister's first car (a 1985 Dodge 600 convertible) sported 'Grls600' on the plates. Yikes! When I saw this Virgina novelty plate, I couldn't help but laugh.

The Center of Something: Chris Rubino

I love the wit in Chris Rubino's upcoming exhibit The Center of Something. The Brooklyn designer's latest work features "an assortment of 'souvenirs' that combine the fantasy of tourism with the realism of actually living" in New York City. I've been to New York City and yes, I bought the shirt, maybe even two of them.

For the Love of Beer

Bill Bramanti loves beer...a lot. Pabst Blue Ribbon to be exact. He loves it so much he has designed his own coffin to resemble the can of his favorite beer. Since the Illinois native is in good health and not planning on needing the coffin anytime soon, he'll be using it as a cooler in the mean time.

Stop...In the Name of Love

Oak Lawn, a Chicago suburb near where I grew up, decided to take a different approach to stressing the importance of obeying stop signs. They added clever slogans to 50 stop signs around the town.

Oak Lawn mayor Dave Heilmann said of the project, "We have to take the work seriously, but it's OK to smile and to be creative in enforcing a serious message." Unfortunately, the Chicago Tribune has reported the signs are coming down, as the Illinois Department of Transportation has determined they violate the federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices. Personally, I think they're great. What do you all think about the signs?

Perfectly Timed Photos

This collection of Pictures Taken Just At The Right Time proves that some of the best photos are the product of good timing and luck. Some of these are simply amazing while others are downright hysterical.

Shirts for Coders

I couldn't help but laugh at these Shirts for Coders. Sort of like this very-creative tattoo I posted a while back. Visit their website for more (slightly funnier/obscene) designs.

Canines On My Mind

These two canine inspired images caught my eye and made me chuckle. Growing up, my family had a dalmatian, her name was Dottie (clever right?). Luckily she never got lost in the rain.

Another Bookcase

I'm posting another bookcase...weird. This one really made me smile and I couldn't resist. If I only had enough books/house space to accommodate the many cases I've desired.

Profound Words by Mike Monteiro

Mike Monteiro's series is profound, as well as blunt and quite funny. He says things I only wish I had the nerve to say. In his bio he claims he's "not very good with words." Mr. Monteiro, I beg to differ.

I Need One of These....

I hate wearing shoes and much prefer walking barefoot. Clearly, I need one of these. Anyone know where I can get one?

KissFM Advertisement

How brilliant and creative is this new advertisement for KissFM radio? I chuckled when I saw it and could totally picture it on a Treadless t-shirt.

Where on Earth is Waldo

Melanie Coles' project "Where on Earth is Waldo" is maybe one of the coolest Web 2.0 spin-offs I've seen yet. Melanie has hidden a giant Waldo somewhere on a rooftop in Vancouver with the hopes of it appearing on Google Earth.
"My addition of a Waldo figure to Google Earth, in a way subverts the whole earth into being part of my game; each rooftop or field then becomes a place where Waldo could be hiding."
Her blog mentions, excitedly, the prospects of others partaking in the game. She hopes others will not only play the game, but hide their own giant Waldo's in other parts of the world to keep the game going.

Comparative Progress of the T.V. and Your Waistband

This is too funny.......and too true. Hence why I don't watch television. I do own one, it's not hooked up to cable, merely sitting in my living room for the purpose of watching movies. However, the amount of time most would spend watching the tube, I spend ten-fold on the internet. Is it any better? I'd like to think so.

Manly Hair Font

I've seen this font pop up on several of the blogs I read frequently. How much do you love it? I must admit, it'd be a little challenging to read outside of an alphabetical context. But who cares, A++ for creativity and amazingness! Yes I said amazingess. Who that A++ goes to seems to be in question.

Please "Do Not" Use Quotation Marks

Because I'm an English major and easily amused....I had to share. I'm not sure italicizing is the best way to place emphasis either, but I respect this person's wit.

Google Gmail Custom Time Feature: Happy April Fool's

In honor of April Fool's day, Google's Gmail users got punked. Google introduced their new gag-feature which allows Gmail users to send emails in the past by setting a 'custom time' on individual emails. The feature boasts its ability to allow you to be on time, all the time. One faux-commenter posts:
"I just got two tickets to Radiohead by being the 'first' to respond to a co-worker's 'first-come, first-serve' email. Someone else had already won them, but I told everyone to check their inboxes again."
Apparently Google takes the day very seriously. Not only have they had a consistent history of April Fool's pranks, but it's their 'birthday' as well. They launched on April 1, 2004. Pretty funny and sadly the only April Fool's prank I was subject too.

Sigh...if only.

Nature Scenes

BoingBoing posted this interesting depiction of a nature scene found in an English-Chinese book. Among the noted nature items include a nuclear power plant, roads, and a giant man-made dam. Humorous if not saddening.

I need a trip to the mountains!
