Hack: Stories from a Chicago Cab is a book based on a blog, based on a zine, based on the years Dmitry Samarov spent as a Chicago cab driver.
We follow Samarov through the rhythms of a typical week, as he waits hours at the garage to pick up a shift, ferries comically drunken passengers between bars, delivers prostitutes to their johns, and inadvertently observes drug deals.
He studied art before he was driving cabs and his paintings and sketches fill the blog and book. His art does a wonderful job of illustrating the stories he tells, but it's his words that truly paint a picture of Chicago.
