To be totally fair, this week's addition of Armchair Travel isn't really a book. Instead, I'm sharing the illustrated and annotated maps from Herb Lester Associates. They pack the same punch as any guidebook and they're downright awesome. There's How to Find Old LA, which is a map and guide designed for those "looking for the city glimpsed in old movies and TV shows." Their Rome: Moods and Places edition is for those in search of la dolce vita and includes "good food, strong coffee, interesting shops and plenty of strolling the city’s beautiful streets." They have more guides with inventive themes than I can get geeked about in just one post, but all are listed and pictured on their website.
