AFRICAN BEAD MUSEUM: DETROIT

You can add this to the list of places I want to see with my own eyes. The MBAD African Bead Museum in Detroit, Michigan looks like a feast for the eyes. The facility houses African artifacts, "including sculptures, textiles, pottery, and bead works dating back hundreds of years, from countless cultures throughout Africa." What I find most alluring about the museum is the facility itself. It was created by Olayami Dabls, an artist, museum curator, and historian in 1985 and remains open to the public and an ongoing art space today.
