In May 1904 a group of explorers met to form an organization with the intention of uniting explorers and promoting exploration as a whole. Today, The Explorers Club has over 3,000 distinguished members from 60 countries and every continent. The club's members also boast an impressive list of accomplishments including first to reach the North Pole in 1909, first to reach the South Pole in 1911, first to summit Mount Everest in 1953 and first to walk on the surface of the moon in 1969. Their website also has images of their stunning headquarters, a Jacobean townhouse built in 1910, located in New York City. So, where do I sign up?
