Farmhouse Palette: The Nook

What I would give to make this little nook my own. It was part of the Farmhouse Palette piece in the Home and Garden section of the New York Times.

If I had to title this amazing photograph by Aaron Huey, I'd call it Aspiration.

Athens Soundies: Drakkar Sauna

I don't often share music here on double takes, but when I do I try to make it count. I've been meaning to post this Drakkar Sauna video since Brian showed it to me months ago. It's from Athens Soundies, a truly awesome series of "one take, low-fi, live sound music videos." The Lawrence, Kansas duo comprised of Wallace Cochran and Jeff Stolz have rocked my world for a few years now.  Their sound and personal style is enchanting.  Happy Monday and enjoy.

Book Designs: Jim Tierney

These cover designs from Jim Tierney alone make me want to read these books.  I love the fact that they're all more or less books about adventures.  Bonus points!

Tray Collection: Fingerspitzengefuhl

I don't collect much. It's not exactly conducive to my current lifestyle choices. I pretend to collect passport stamps and freckles, but I've always wanted to collect something substantial and creative. This tray collection of Johanna's of Fingerspitzengefuhl is exactly the inspiration I need. The colors and patterns are truly amazing.

Happy Monday

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend.  I spent mine simply relaxing.  The weather here in Korea has definitely been less than appealing.  Saturday we experienced the side effects of Mongolia and China's big sand storm.  I woke to a city blanketed in smog and haze.  Today, we were dumped with snow, lots and lots of snow. Looking forward to more adventure-conducive weather.

How baller are these Ohema Ohene batik print shoes? I love the vibrant colors, they simply scream warmer weather.

Squeeze Me Pillow: Avril Loreti

It's been some time since I've gushed over a good Scrabble inspired item.  Then I stumbled on this Squeeze Me pillow from Avril Loreti's Etsy shop. Really flipping adorable!

Greetings From Korea

Two weeks in and I can hardly process that Korea is my new home. It's been an exciting and emotional transition, but alas I am starting to get settled and situated. With an internet connection established and other priorities ticked off my to-do list, I should resume regular posting (and reading of all your blogs).
A brief overview of my first 14 days here in Asia:
  • My carry-on (with all my valuables) was stolen off the plane and has yet to be returned (fingers crossed for me?)
  • Got a bike and a plant for my new flat, expediting the 'this is home' feeling.
  • Ate bugs, worms, and live squid (yes still moving) my first weekend in the country.
So excited to have you along for the journey!
