Continental Pillows

I simply adore this Cushy Continents pillow set from Uncommon Goods. Their product detail describes them best, "Rest your head close to home on the US pillow or drift off to far away lands with the Asia and Africa versions. Either way, you can rest assured that these bright and cheery pillows help the greater good by providing fair wages and development opportunities for artisans in South West India. Pillow cases are made of cotton and decoration is applied using Batik, a traditional Indian art to create patterns on fabric." I'm sold!

The Bagmen: Bela Borsodi

Back in 2005, photographer Bela Borsodi did an awesome series for Details magazine called the Bagmen. It featured various pieces of luggage personified and it's undeniably creative. They look like such swanky travelers!

A Perfect Wedding Day

I'm not the type of girl who's been secretly planning my wedding day since I was a child. But if I was asked to quickly describe my dream ceremony, it would very much resemble Penelope and William's wedding shoot by photographer Tec Petaja for Nashville Lifestyles. I mean really, what's a wedding without banjos, bikes and bow ties? Visit his site for more stunning images of the perfect wedding.

Illustrations: Ric Stultz

I stumbled upon the work of Ric Stultz over at Pikaland and it was adoration at first sight. His pieces are like storybook illustrations for a grown-up audience. Every single piece on his website warrants reflection.

Sushi Box: Ashley Buerkett

If there's one thing I could eat every day and never tire of it, it would be sushi. I flipped when I saw this simple yet genius sushi box design by Ashley Buerkett. She's received a lot praise for her Mario World board game concept and understandably so. Her entire portfolio is impressive. A May 2008 MBA graduated from the Ringling College of Art and Design, Buerkett seems to have a promising career ahead of her.

World of Words Globe: Ron Miriello

Ron Miriello loves globes. Recently, he's taken to making his own instead of shelling out money on expensive collector globes.
"I’ve always been into globes, particularly old ones and odd ones. I’m not completely sure why. Probably because of their flawless shape, their utility and because of what they stand for. I like the idea of traveling to those unpronounceable places you saw as a kid, and still can’t pronounce as a grown-up."
One piece in his series of globes is titled World of Words. Combining two of my favorite things, globes and books, his creation is visually and conceptually awesome.

I Don't Know Where I'm Going

This struck a cord with me. Maybe a new personal mantra? Thanks for the pick me up Mr. Bowie. Does anyone know what this is from (not the quote, I got that). I searched for credit but was unsuccessful.

Cushionized Sofa: Christiane Högner

I'm not the best napper. Particularly, I have a difficult time getting comfortable enough to slip quickly into a short snooze. However, I am quite certain I would do just fine with napping if I had Christiane Högner's Cushionized Sofa to rest my weary head on.

Mark Mawson has an incredible portfolio of work, that's just a fact. A specific and shining example of this is his Bus Graveyard series of photographs. They are haunting and nostalgic in the most powerful way.

Hello Summer

First and foremost, thanks to all those who sent congratulations and kind words about me graduating! You are all so sweet. Secondly, thanks for your patience with the lack of posting. I hereby return to our regular schedule and have a few surprises in store as well. Finally, the weekend went wonderfully. Graduation was memorable and it was such a treat to have my family in town from Chicago. Brian surprised me with a little vacation as a graduation gift. He took me down to the Ozark Mountains for a camping trip. It was lovely, to say the least. How was your weekend? I'd love to hear! Thanks again, truly!

Bamboo Bikes Studio

Lately. I've been thinking about building my own bike. I think it could be a fun project collecting parts and eventually crafting my own ride. If I lived in the New York area, I can say I'd absolutely take advantage of the Bamboo Bikes Studio. The weekend-long workshop guides you through building your own bike, from bamboo nonetheless.

A Square: Hosang Park

A Square, the aptly named series by Korean photographer Hosang Park features aerial photographs of small parks from all over the world. It was Park's intention to showcase recreational locations that seem to fail in accomplishing their intended purpose of providing open space.

Yellow Treehouse Restaurant

Nestled high up in a redwood is the Yellow Treehouse Restaurant in New Zealand. The 18-seat cafe overlooks the forest and a stream below. It was design by Environments Architects Ltd. as part of a considerably massive marketing campaign by Yellow Pages. The restaurant is for hire only and currently booked solid.

Neighbors: Amy Bennet

Amy Bennett has a great series of aerial-inspired paintings called Neighbors. She constructs 3D models that she paints from, giving her work a very diorama-like look. There is something very voyeuristic about them that I love.
