I love those skates! When I was a kid, birthdays at the roller rink meant you got to sit inside this giant roller skate with a friend and get pushed around the rink for a victory lap.
I think that was pretty much the pinnacle of my childhood.
Oh, I would totally break my neck on those suckers today.
I had skates exactly like this, except the wheels were all pink. And the skating rink was the first place I held hands with a boy. Sigh. I even had a monthly pass.
Wow. Roller rinks... I wonder how those are doing now a days. I don't really know of anyone who goes roller skating/blading anymore but I suppose I'm too old. I just wonder how the rinks are doing, but with the whole rejuvenation of women's Roller Derby though, who knows.

I went to a roller disco the other week and it was soooo much fun - although I am now absolutely rubbish on skates ;)
