FB you make a good point, typing would become a little more complicated. As well as learning the language if you're a non-native speaker. I know learning what little Czech I did was extremely difficult. But isn't it so much more interesting?
Getting into my apartment by scaling a neighboring building, leaping to my own rooftop and rappelling down to my window would also be more "interesting" than taking the stairs. Interesting isn't automatically a good thing.
Half the english speaking population of the world can't write anyhow (and the other half doesn't have a slightest idea about grammar), so I doubt it would make much difference if there was some added accent marks etc. :D
Actually, more cool letters like that would help solve the problems of spelling in English and make it more simple. For example, the letter 'o' can represent three different sounds in English (sock, soak, sort). An accent pointing in different directions would allow us to simplify both spelling and pronunciation. On top of that, it would just plain look cool.
More interesting characters in the English language? I can name four: Shakespeare, Joyce, Shaw, and Rushdie. Four funner lads you'd be hard to come up with.

I don't. Typing even just in French is a mess.
I agree! English is just plain boring.

They are missing the polish ł, a key letter, and ę. But I couldn't agree more, otherwise.
I'm so glad it doesn't. Here's a hint; pay attention in school.
Hah, I have to agree. English is so boring, that's why I make all my y's and g's have curlicues when I write.
