The Last Iceberg: Camille Seaman

The Last Iceberg by Camille Seaman chronicles the icebergs of Earth's polar regions. It's from a larger project called Melting Away. Beautiful photography definitely worth a look. Enjoy!

The Littlest Library: Ryan Duggan

Columbia College alum Ryan Duggan has a pretty great idea. A street-based free community book exchange. You can read his full story in the Chicago Reader. I'll definitely be keeping my eyes peeled for one of these next time I'm back home in Chicago.

Quiltsrÿche

I guess you could call this quilting for a new generation. I found this website for Quiltsrÿche and thought it was pretty cool.
"Quiltsrÿche turns traditional quilting on its ear with modern heirloom quilts that look like they were made by your metal-loving, half-blind Grandma. Bold designs, eye-popping color combinations and a touch of evil are the hallmarks of Quiltsrÿche quilts. A one-of-a-kind rock quilt won't match your curtains, but it will have enough character and craftsmanship to captivate you year after headbanging year."
I'm always impressed with old artistic techniques carried out with new creative subjects.

Threadless

So I was completely out of the loop on this one. But now I'm not and I wanted to share. Threadless is a website, and now store, based out of Chicago where really anyone can upload their t-shirt designs and the public votes on them. Each week six designs are chosen and sold via the site. I spent a good hour looking through and likely could have spent my Holiday savings.

The World Beard and Moustache Championship

"The World Beard and Moustache Championship will return to North America for the second time in its history when the City of Anchorage, Alaska rolls out the red carpet for the world's bearded elite on May 23, 2009. The biennial celebration of facial hair is open to everyone."

The photo gallery is most definitely worth a peak.
